Pyaar, Muhabbat & Ishq
Pyaar, Muhabbat and Ishq, these three words are world famous because of Bollywood movies. There are many movies in Bollywood are made with the title Pyaar, Muhabbat or Ishq. Such as 'Kaho na Pyaar hai, Pyaar kiya to darna kya, Hogi Pyaar ki jeet, and Pyaar, Ishq aur Muhabbat, Muhabbat, and Hum to Muhabbat karega etc.
However if we translate these three words in English we will see there is no difference between the meanings and the result will be 'love'.
Whereas the language relation of these three words are different, The word pyaar प्यार پیار is of Hindi origin, while Muhabbat मुहब्बत محبت and Ishq इश्क़ عشق is of Arabic words.
Many people tried to describe depending on their own feelings. For example if you have watched Devdas, actress Madhuri tried to describe, "Pyar is reflection of soul, Ishq is worship of God and Muhabbat is the purpose of life". In love poetry also the meaning of these three words are defined as "when you start having an affection towards someone are something it is love, secondly when you starts caring about someone or something it is Muhabbat and then finally you become mad for someone or something it is Ishq".
Pyar is more famous then Muhabbat and Ishq but pyar is less formal then muhabbat and ishq. Pyaar is a simple love, Muhabbat is more deep love then pyaar while ishq is a eternal love.
Now I try to explain these words one by one, let's see...
Pyaar- is a simple love. The word Pyaar describes almost all kind of love whether it towards human or animals or things (may lustful or not). It is less formal word.
there are some funny quotes "pyaar hota nahi hai, kiya jata hai".
Muhabbat- The word Muhabbat also describe love and caring towards human, animals or things also not lustful. But it is spiritual. It is more formal word than Pyar. Also can use for Romance.
Ishq- It is a strong and extreme love. But there is no place for lustfulness. This word describe craziness towards lover, Prophet, God or anything such as passion, game or caring about pets. it is considered as last stage of love or craziness.
